Separate River Drownings in UK and California

Two separate river tragedies occurred this week, one in Suffolk, England and another in Knights Landing, California. In Suffolk, a teenage boy drowned in the River Waveney after entering the water with friends; his body was recovered following a multi-agency search. In California, 25-year-old Cameron Birdsong was found dead in the Sacramento River after jumping off the Knights Landing Bridge and failing to resurface, an act reportedly common in the area.
