Phil Taylor Announces Full Retirement from Darts
Phil 'The Power' Taylor, widely considered the greatest darts player ever, has officially retired from all forms of the sport, citing health issues. Taylor initially retired from professional competition in 2018 after losing the World Championship final to Rob Cross but continued to compete in exhibitions and on the World Seniors Tour. Over his 40-year career, Taylor amassed 16 World Championship titles, 87 major titles, and 11 televised nine-dart finishes. He expressed deep gratitude to his fans and the darts community for their support throughout his career. Although Taylor will no longer compete in any capacity, he plans to remain involved with darts through appearances and new projects. His retirement is seen as the end of an unmatched era in the sport.
