Joel canceled all his upcoming live performances in May 2025 to focus on recovery, undergoing physical therapy and following medical advice to refrain from performing. His longtime creative director, Steve Cohen, expressed optimism about Joel's recovery, describing it as a temporary pause and noting that all signs point to a full recuperation.
