Clemson WR Bryant Wesco Hospitalized After Serious Neck Injury During SMU Game
Clemson football experienced significant injury concerns following their 35-24 loss to SMU. Starting left tackle Tristan Leigh missed the game due to an ankle injury but is expected to be available for the next game against Duke. More seriously, star wide receiver Bryant Wesco Jr. suffered a severe neck injury during a punt return, where he was flipped in the air and landed awkwardly. Wesco left the game immediately and was hospitalized, with coach Dabo Swinney describing the injury as "serious" and urging fans to keep him in their prayers. Wesco had been Clemson's leading receiver with 31 catches, 537 yards, and six touchdowns before the injury. The team will have an open date before facing Duke, during which they hope to learn more about Wesco's condition.
