One Woman Killed, Another Wounded in Chicago Hotel Shooting

A shooting at a River North hotel in Chicago on the night of February 22, 2025, left one woman dead and another injured. Police responded around 8:15 p.m. to the 300 block of West Grand Avenue, where they found a 29-year-old woman shot in the neck in the lobby, who reported being attacked by an unknown man that fled the scene in a tan SUV. She was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and was reported to be in good condition. Officers later discovered a 32-year-old woman in a guest room with a life-threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder; she later died at the hospital. As of now, no suspects are in custody, and investigators are trying to determine if the shooting was targeted or random, as well as whether the victims knew each other. The investigation is ongoing, led by Area Three detectives.
