Attending the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan, he left campus during lunch and did not return, which led to him not completing the necessary credits for graduation. However, at age 34, White finally received his high school diploma unexpectedly from his former drama teacher, Greg Parente, at the New York Film Festival premiere of his film Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. White invited Parente, a big Bruce Springsteen fan, to the premiere, where he was presented with the diploma as a gift, marking a meaningful milestone for the actor. Despite his earlier academic struggles, White had been acting professionally since his teenage years, including roles in Law & Order and several films.
