Walker Officer Shoots Knife-Wielding Suspect in Store

A police officer in Walker, Minnesota shot a knife-wielding man in the arm inside a Dollar General store after the suspect, wearing only boxer shorts, charged the officer and ignored commands to drop the weapon. The suspect had earlier punctured car tires and threatened to kill store employees, as well as spraying the officer with bug spray and throwing items. The incident was recorded on the officer's body camera. The suspect was transported to a hospital in Bemidji with non-life-threatening injuries. The officer has been placed on administrative leave while the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigates. Officer-involved shootings are rare in Walker, and the event led to a large law enforcement response and witness interviews.
