Jonathan Wheatley Joins Audi F1 as Team Principal

Jonathan Wheatley, Red Bull Racing's long-serving Sporting Director, will leave the team at the end of the 2024 season to become the team principal of Audi's Formula 1 project. Wheatley has been a crucial figure in Red Bull's success, contributing to six World Constructors' Titles and seven World Drivers' Championships over his 18-year tenure. His departure follows the announcement of Adrian Newey's exit, marking significant changes in Red Bull's leadership. Audi, taking over the Sauber team, aims to make a strong entry into F1 in 2026 and has also secured former Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto. Wheatley and Binotto will form a dual management structure, with Wheatley overseeing the racing team and Binotto managing technical aspects. Red Bull plans to announce its new team structure soon as it prepares for these transitions.
