Two Boys Charged in Assault on David Paterson

Two boys, aged 12 and 13, were arrested for their involvement in an assault on former New York Governor David Paterson and his stepson, Anthony Sliwa, on Friday night in Manhattan. The attack occurred around 8:30 p.m. when Paterson and Sliwa were engaged in a verbal altercation with a group of at least five individuals, which escalated into physical violence. Both Paterson and Sliwa sustained injuries, with Sliwa requiring stitches for a cut to his face. Paterson, who is legally blind, reported that the confrontation began when Sliwa confronted some of the assailants who were climbing a fire escape. The boys have been charged with gang assault, but their identities remain confidential due to their age. Authorities are still seeking information from the public regarding the incident.
