Maryland Ranks Highest in Fast Food Options in America

A recent study by the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts reveals that Maryland has the best fast food scene in the United States, with nearly half of its eateries classified as fast food, exceeding the national average of 36%. Following Maryland, Nevada and Illinois rank second and third, with New York and Hawaii completing the top five. The study assessed the proportion of fast food options relative to total restaurants, number of establishments per capita, and food expenditures using data from the National Restaurant Association. The results indicate that while affluent and densely populated states tend to dominate the rankings, other regions also display strong fast food presence.
