Fortinet Secures Multiyear Title Sponsorship, Boosts LPGA Founders Cup Purse to $3 Million
The LPGA Tour has secured a multiyear title sponsorship deal with cybersecurity company Fortinet for the Founders Cup, reinstating the tournament's purse to $3 million for the 2026 event held at Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club in Menlo Park, California. The Founders Cup honors the 13 women who founded the LPGA in 1950 and had previously experienced sponsorship changes, with Cognizant stepping away and the 2025 event held without a title sponsor in Florida. LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler praised Fortinet's alignment with the event's values and its Northern California roots, highlighting the partnership as a major boost for the tour's growth and presence. Fortinet, founded in Silicon Valley in 2000, is recognized as a leader in cybersecurity with the largest patent portfolios in both cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, and has received accolades including Forbes' Most Trusted Companies in America. The agreement reportedly involved no agencies and was facilitated through personal connections, reflecting optimism about the LPGA's future under Kessler's leadership. In addition to the sponsorship, Fortinet's chairman made a significant donation to the LPGA Foundation, further deepening the company's commitment to women's golf.
