Pokémon GO Adds Remote Shadow, Max Battle Access

Pokémon GO is rolling out permanent changes starting in May 2025 that will allow players to participate in Shadow Raids and Max Battles remotely using Remote Raid Passes, with remote access to Shadow Raids starting May 13 and Max Battles on May 19. The daily Remote Raid limit will increase from five to ten, with temporary increases up to twenty during special events, and the Max Particles cap will rise from 1,000 to 1,500. Players participating in Max Battles remotely will need both a Remote Raid Pass and Max Particles. In-person Max Battle participants will still earn extra Premier Balls and XP as incentives. These updates come in response to long-standing community requests for better accessibility and inclusivity, particularly for rural players. The changes follow Scopely's acquisition of Niantic's game division, with assurances that no major negative impacts will result from the transition.
