Shaun White's Snow League Debuts in Aspen

The Snow League, a new professional snowboarding competition founded by Shaun White, will debut on March 7-8 at Aspen's Buttermilk Ski Area, featuring 36 elite athletes competing for a prize purse of over $1.5 million. The roster is headlined by Olympic gold medalist Ayumu Hirano and includes notable competitors such as U.S. Olympians Maddie Mastro and Lucas Foster, as well as 2022 Olympic medalists Queralt Castellet and Sena Tomita. White envisions the league as a platform to unite top action sports athletes and celebrate snowboarding's best talent. The first season will consist of four events globally, with freeskiing expected to join future competitions. The league's events will be broadcast live on Peacock and have secured a deal for encore presentations on NBC. Athletes will earn points towards the Snow League World Champion title, and results will contribute to Olympic team selection criteria.
