Detroit Red Wings Announce Sergei Fedorov Jersey Retirement in 2026

The Detroit Red Wings will retire Sergei Fedorov's No. 91 jersey in a ceremony on January 12, 2026, during the franchise's centennial season at Little Caesars Arena. Fedorov, a key player in Detroit's Stanley Cup victories in 1997, 1998, and 2002, spent 13 seasons with the team and ranks among its all-time leaders in games played, goals, assists, and points. Although the number has been unofficially out of circulation since Fedorov left in 2003, it will now become the ninth officially retired number in Red Wings history. The announcement was made by team owner and CEO Chris Ilitch, who praised Fedorov's skill, drive, and lasting impact on the organization.
