Indianapolis Introduces Anonymous Harassment Reporting Tool

The Union Ministry of Women and Child Development launched the SHe-Box portal to centralize registration and monitoring of workplace sexual harassment complaints across India, providing a unified platform for filing, tracking, and ensuring timely processing of complaints by Internal and Local Committees. In Indianapolis, the city introduced an anonymous harassment reporting tool for employees, following allegations against former Mayor Chief of Staff Thomas Cook, who resigned in 2020 amid accusations of inappropriate relationships with subordinates. The tool is currently managed by the city's HR department until a third-party vendor is selected and is part of broader initiatives to enhance employee safety and provide annual harassment training.
