Man Dead Four Critically Injured Including Children in Catawba County Head-On Crash

A fatal head-on collision occurred on Settlemyre Bridge Road in Catawba County, North Carolina, resulting in the death of 40-year-old Christopher Shea Houser of Newton. Houser's eastbound Nissan Altima crossed the centerline and collided with a westbound Infiniti Q50 driven by 22-year-old Isrrael Suarez-Hernandez, who, along with one adult passenger and two children, sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. Investigators believe speed and impairment contributed to the crash, and Houser was not wearing a seat belt. The crash led to several hours of road closure during police investigation.
