Seven Arrested in Bibb County Child Sex Trafficking Ring

Authorities in Bibb County, Alabama, have uncovered a horrific child sex trafficking ring involving children as young as three years old, who were drugged, tied to beds, chairs, and poles, and sexually abused in an underground storm shelter near Brent. Seven people, including William Chase McElroy, Andres Trejo-Velazquez, Timothy St. John, and others, have been arrested and charged with crimes such as rape, sodomy, human trafficking, kidnapping, and sexual torture. Investigations revealed that the victims were exploited for commercial sex, with some perpetrators facilitating the abuse and others paying for access. The ring is believed to have connections to the Sureños gang, with suspects potentially earning up to $1,000 a night from the abuse. Authorities warn that there may be additional victims and perpetrators, and the trauma inflicted on the children will be difficult to overcome. The Bibb County Sheriff and Assistant District Attorney emphasized the importance of community vigilance and reporting suspected child abuse to prevent further victimization.
