Revel Launches First EV Charging Hub in San Francisco, Plans 125 More Across Bay Area

Brooklyn-based startup Revel has launched its first electric vehicle (EV) fast charging station in San Francisco's Mission District, featuring 12 chargers with a capacity of 320 kW each. This marks the company's initial step in expanding its network to the West Coast, with plans to add over 125 chargers across urban centers in the Bay Area, including San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose, over the next year. San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, highlighting the importance of these new chargers in promoting EV adoption in a city where over 35% of new vehicle sales are electric. Revel aims to provide reliable and fast charging solutions in densely populated areas, addressing the growing demand for EV infrastructure. The company also recently secured a $60 million loan from NY Green Bank to support its expansion efforts in New York City, where it operates the largest fast-charging network. Revel's focus on high-quality, accessible charging aligns with its goal of facilitating the transition to electric vehicles.
