Birmingham Wood End Road Closure Imposes Overnight Safety Works
National Highways has canceled the planned overnight full closure of the A52 in Nottingham between the Priory and Queen's Medical Centre roundabouts, originally scheduled from October 6 to 10, opting instead for lane closures on the Priory roundabout from 8pm to 6am. The wider A52 improvement project in Nottingham is expected to be completed by spring next year. In Birmingham, Wood End Road is closed overnight for two nights to carry out resurfacing works aimed at improving road safety by applying an anti-slip surface near a pedestrian crossing, with bus services being rerouted accordingly. Meanwhile, in Cornwall, overnight closures of the A30 are scheduled for various sections and times between late September and early October to facilitate final finishing and remedial works on a £330 million dualling scheme, with signed diversions in place and drivers advised to plan for delays.
