Kuala Lumpur Pipeline Fire Injures 33, Six Hospitalized
A significant fire erupted at a gas pipeline operated by Malaysia's state energy firm Petronas near Kuala Lumpur, injuring at least 33 people, with six requiring hospitalization. The incident, which began during Eid celebrations, was caused by a leak in a pipeline approximately 500 meters long, prompting emergency services to rescue residents trapped in their homes in Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru. Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud bang and seeing a massive blaze visible from several kilometers away. Petronas confirmed that the pipeline has been isolated and the valve closed, while the Selangor fire department continues to investigate the fire's extent. Images from the scene showed a large flame and significant smoke, indicating the fire's severity. Rescue operations are still ongoing as authorities address the aftermath of the incident.
