Cellcard Upgrades Cambodia Fiber Network to 10Gbps XGS-PON

Nokia and Cellcard have partnered to upgrade Cambodia's fiber broadband network by transitioning from GPON to the advanced XGS-PON technology, which offers internet speeds of up to 10 Gbps. The deployment will enhance end-user experiences, enabling improved automation and performance for residential and business customers across key cities like Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Nokia's Lightspan and Altiplano solutions will provide Cellcard with robust network management capabilities, allowing for better visualization and optimization of broadband services, and supporting applications such as Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). Asitha De Costa, CIO of Cellcard, emphasized the commitment to enhancing network efficiency and user experiences, particularly as digital consumption rises. This collaboration marks a significant step in modernizing Cambodia's digital infrastructure and preparing it for future demands.
