Julia Wandelt Arrested on Four Stalking Charges

Julia Wandelt, a Polish woman who has claimed to be Madeleine McCann, was arrested at Bristol Airport on February 19 on four counts of stalking. The charges, which include incidents between May 2024 and February 2025, are believed to involve the parents of Madeleine McCann, who disappeared in 2007. Despite a DNA test in 2023 proving she is not McCann, Wandelt continued to assert her claim, maintaining a social media presence. Alongside Wandelt, a 60-year-old woman from Wales was also arrested but later released on bail. Wandelt has been remanded in custody and is set to appear in Leicestershire Magistrates’ Court. This arrest marks another chapter in Wandelt's controversial and public claims, which have been ongoing since 2023.
