Chelsea Agrees £55.5m Deal to Sign Jamie Gittens from Dortmund

Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, finalizing a deal reportedly worth around £55.5 million including add-ons, with Gittens set to sign a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge. The 20-year-old England U21 international has been a priority target for Chelsea this summer as they look to strengthen their wide attacking options following the decision not to make Jadon Sancho's loan permanent. Gittens, who has made over 100 appearances for Dortmund since joining in 2020 and contributed 12 goals and five assists in the 2024-25 season, is currently participating in the FIFA Club World Cup with Dortmund, which makes him ineligible to play for Chelsea in the tournament due to being cup-tied. Despite initial disagreements over the transfer fee, with Dortmund previously valuing Gittens at €65 million, both clubs agreed to the finalized fee during negotiations in the US amid the Club World Cup.
