Several communities are expanding their pickleball facilities to meet the sport's growing popularity. Palm Springs has broken ground on a $5.1 million expansion at Demuth Park, increasing the number of courts from 12 to 22, though the plan was scaled back from an original 24-court design due to budget constraints. In Sherwood Park, the new Peak Athletic Centre opened as a versatile venue hosting pickleball and volleyball, aiming to provide more local training opportunities and court availability. At James Madison University, four newly renovated pickleball courts replaced a roller hockey court, reflecting strong student interest and increasing campus recreational activities. Fresno city leaders have also begun construction to convert existing tennis courts at Roeding Park into multi-use courts for pickleball and other sports, enhancing athletic options for residents. These developments highlight the rising demand and community support for pickleball facilities across various regions.
