Four UK Family Members Die in Portugal Holiday Crash
Four members of the Serrano family from Thetford, Norfolk, including parents Domingos and Maria and their twin sons Domingos and Afonso, both aged 20, died in a tragic car crash while on holiday in Portugal. The accident occurred near Castro Verde when their hire car collided head-on with another vehicle, resulting in the deaths of the family members, the 19-year-old girlfriend of one of the twins who was traveling with them, and the driver of the other car. The Serrano family, originally from the Mourao region, were reportedly on their usual vacation from England. Mourao authorities declared two days of municipal mourning in response to the tragedy and canceled local events. Thetford Town Youth Football Club, where the twin sons had been integral members of the U18 team, expressed deep condolences and noted the significant impact of the loss on the local community. The Municipal Council of Mourão also offered condolences to the families and friends of the victims, highlighting the sorrow felt both locally and abroad.
