Swiss Air A220 Lands in Graz After Emergency
A Swiss International Air Lines flight from Bucharest to Zurich made an emergency landing in Graz, Austria, due to engine issues and smoke in both the cabin and cockpit, leaving one crew member in intensive care. The Airbus A220-300, carrying 74 passengers and five crew members, was safely evacuated with 12 passengers requiring medical treatment, and one crew member airlifted to the hospital. The condition of the injured crew member remains unclear, while the remaining crew are also under medical observation. SWISS has arranged a replacement flight to return passengers to Zurich and provided hotel accommodations in Graz. The airline is collaborating with authorities to investigate the incident and has apologized to the affected passengers and crew, ensuring ongoing support and care. The aircraft, registered as HB-JCD, has been removed from the runway, and Graz Airport, which was closed following the incident, has since reopened.
