Generals Detained Over Kharkiv Defense Failures Amid Russian Offensive

Ukraine's State Investigation Bureau has detained two generals and a colonel for negligence during Russia's offensive in Kharkiv in May 2024. The military officers are accused of failing to prepare adequate defenses, which allowed Russian forces to penetrate up to ten kilometers into Ukrainian territory, resulting in significant territorial losses. Among the detained are high-ranking officials from the Kharkiv Operational-Tactical Group and the 125th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. Investigations revealed violations of military regulations and a lack of coordination in defense efforts, leading to the capture of parts of the region.
