Hagerstown Teen Shot Twice, Loaded Handgun Recovered Amid Ongoing Investigation
On June 30, a 17-year-old male was shot twice in the lower extremities near East Baltimore and South Locust Streets in Hagerstown and was transported to Meritus Medical Center for treatment. Police executed a search and seizure warrant at a nearby residence on East Baltimore Street, recovering a loaded handgun as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are exploring possible connections between this shooting and a related incident on June 18, where three teens were shot within a close vicinity. Additionally, on June 29 and early June 30, Hagerstown police arrested three suspects in connection with gunfire and drug-related offenses, seizing suspected fentanyl, cocaine, and firearms during multiple search warrants. The Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network funded portions of the investigation, which targets violent criminal networks involved in illegal firearms and drug activity. Police urge anyone with information to assist as investigations continue.
