Teenager pleads guilty to sharing ISIS propaganda online

Leo Walby, a 19-year-old from Swanley, has pleaded guilty to six charges of disseminating terrorist material related to ISIS on social media platforms TikTok and Telegram. His offenses, which occurred between July and August 2022, included sharing graphic videos and propaganda aimed at encouraging acts of terrorism, with titles such as 'Yes We Are Terrorists.' Walby claimed he was motivated by a desire for likes and excitement, describing his actions as jumping on a trend. He was also charged with failing to comply with a legal notice regarding a cloud storage password. Following his guilty plea at the Old Bailey, Walby has been remanded in custody, with sentencing set for May 9. Authorities emphasized the harmful nature of such extremist content and urged the public to report any similar material online.
