Man arrested for arson, criminal damage in Derry
Police in Derry have arrested a 31-year-old man following a series of arson incidents reported on Saturday evening around 11:20 PM. A car in the Great James Street area was set on fire after its window was smashed and an accelerant was used, causing significant damage. Additionally, two other vehicles were also damaged, including a campervan in Clarendon Street and a car in Princess Street. The man faces multiple charges, including two counts of arson and possession of class B drugs with intent to supply. Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV footage to assist in the investigation. The suspect remains in police custody as inquiries continue.
