Aaron Donald Leads 2025 Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame Class
The University of Pittsburgh announced its 2025 Athletics Hall of Fame class, featuring eight members including standout NFL player Aaron Donald and notable athletes from various sports. Donald, a dominant defensive player with a decorated NFL career, played for Pitt from 2010-13 and earned multiple prestigious awards before becoming a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl champion. Other inductees include Bob Jury (football), Sam Young (men's basketball), Wanda Randolph (women's basketball), Amanda Walker (women's track and field), Jessica Dignon (softball), Jerry DeMuro (men's swimming), and Jack Anderson (contributor, Pitt Band). DeMuro, a walk-on swimmer, was undefeated in intercollegiate competition over three seasons and earned All-America honors, contributing to Pitt's four consecutive Eastern Intercollegiate team championships. The class will be honored at a dinner on September 26 at the Petersen Events Center and recognized at the football game against Louisville on September 27. Pitt Athletic Director Allen Greene expressed deep appreciation for the university's rich athletics history and the emotional impact of the Hall of Famers' achievements.
