The Bombay High Court has denied immediate relief for the release of Kangana Ranaut's film 'Emergency,' following protests from Sikh groups over the film's depiction of their community. The court ruled that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) must review the objections and make a decision by September 18, delaying the film's scheduled release on September 6. Sikh organizations, including the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, have accused the film of misrepresenting historical facts and hurting Sikh sentiments. The Madhya Pradesh High Court had also directed the CBFC to consider the objections before issuing a certificate. Zee Entertainment Enterprises moved the Bombay High Court, claiming the CBFC was illegally withholding the certificate. Kangana Ranaut has accused the CBFC of stalling the certification process due to external pressures.
