FSU Shooting Rampage Kills 2, Injures 6 in Under 5 Minutes
A shooting at Florida State University left two people dead and six others wounded when a gunman, identified as 20-year-old student Phoenix Ikner and the son of a sheriff’s deputy, opened fire on campus. Ikner arrived an hour before the attack, pacing near a parking garage before walking through campus buildings and green spaces while firing a handgun. The shooting lasted less than five minutes before police confronted and shot Ikner, who was hospitalized. The two victims killed were identified as food service workers, Robert Morales and Tiru Chabba. Several of the wounded were students, but all injured victims are expected to survive. The incident prompted a campus vigil, class cancellations, and an ongoing police investigation, with authorities encouraging witnesses to provide information.
