Wendy Williams' Ex Sues Over Guardianship Abuse

Kevin Hunter, ex-husband of Wendy Williams, has filed a $250 million federal lawsuit alleging that her guardianship is abusive, exploitative, and akin to imprisonment, naming her court-appointed guardian Sabrina Morrissey, Wells Fargo, and others as defendants. The suit claims Williams is being isolated, overmedicated, and denied basic freedoms, arguing the guardianship—imposed after Wells Fargo froze her accounts in 2022—was established without transparency or adequate legal representation. Hunter asserts that Williams is competent, citing a recent cognitive evaluation she reportedly passed in March 2025, and accuses caretakers of financial mismanagement, defamation, and breaches of fiduciary duty. The lawsuit lists 22 legal counts, including violation of disability rights, negligence, and unlawful isolation, and seeks damages for financial and reputational losses. Williams has publicly denied involvement, calling the litigation a money grab, though Hunter is suing on her behalf. Neither Williams' guardian nor other named parties have responded publicly to the lawsuit.
