Jennifer Aniston's Alleged Stalker Faces Felony Charges in California Court
Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, a 48-year-old man from Mississippi, has been charged with felony stalking and vandalism after crashing his car through the front gate of actress Jennifer Aniston's Bel Air home while she was inside. Carwyle is accused of harassing Aniston with unwanted social media, voicemail, and email messages over a period beginning in March 2023, culminating with the gate crash incident. During his court appearance, Carwyle appeared shirtless and wrapped in a blanket, did not enter a plea, and was ordered to undergo a mental competency evaluation before the case can proceed. The judge also issued a strict order forbidding Carwyle from contacting Aniston or coming within 100 feet of her, and set bail at $150,000. Prosecutors emphasized the seriousness of stalking as a crime that can escalate to violence, and Carwyle faces an aggravating circumstance charge for the threat of great bodily harm, which could result in up to three years in prison if convicted. Aniston's representatives have declined to comment on the case, and legal proceedings will continue only if Carwyle is deemed competent to stand trial.
