IKEA Opens First Sussex Store Brighton Town Centre

IKEA is set to open its first Sussex store in Brighton on August 14, 2025, located in the former Debenhams unit of Churchill Square Shopping Centre, offering 6,695 square meters of retail space over two floors with a wide range of affordable and sustainable home furnishings. The store features a 100-seater Swedish Deli with sea views serving classic IKEA dishes like meatballs and plantballs, as well as a takeaway counter. Customers can enjoy inspiring roomsets co-created with local residents, expert planning services for kitchens and bedroom storage, and access to IKEA’s full range via home delivery or collection. To celebrate the opening and address Brighton’s notorious seagull problem, IKEA has launched a seagull-proof 'chip theft insurance kiosk' at Brighton i360, providing free portions of chips to locals and visitors who have lost food to seagulls. The new store is expected to bring over 150 jobs to the city and represents IKEA’s third city-center location in the UK.
