Big Bear Eagles Welcome Three Eaglets in Live Cam Event

Big Bear's iconic bald eagle couple, Jackie and Shadow, have successfully welcomed three eaglets into the world, marking a significant achievement as this is the first time they are caring for three chicks simultaneously. The eaglets hatched on March 3, 4, and 8, capturing the attention of thousands via a live-streamed camera. Sandy Steers, executive director of Friends of Big Bear Valley, expressed immense joy over the hatching, especially after previous unsuccessful attempts. The eaglets will face challenges ahead, particularly concerning their survival against weather conditions and the lack of waterproof feathers in their early stages. Observers note that the eaglets are growing stronger each day and beginning to learn essential skills like eating and flapping their wings. Overall, this event highlights the resilience of bald eagles, whose populations were once on the brink of extinction due to environmental factors.
