Vernon Reid on 'Can't Be Found'
MC5 has announced the release of their first album in over 50 years, titled Heavy Lifting, set to drop on October 18. The lead single, 'Can’t Be Found,' features contributions from Living Colour's Vernon Reid and late original drummer Dennis 'Machine Gun' Thompson, who passed away in May. The album, produced by Bob Ezrin and co-written by Wayne Kramer and Brad Brooks, aims to reflect contemporary challenges while delivering a positive message. Heavy Lifting includes guest appearances from notable musicians like Slash, Tom Morello, and William DuVall, and will be celebrated with an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Additionally, a special two-CD edition will feature unreleased live recordings from the MC50 tour. Kramer's vision for the album was to create a powerful guitar-driven record that resonates with today's issues and showcases an array of musical talent.
