Dangote Refinery Begins PMS Exports to Cameroon

Dangote Refinery has made a significant advancement in regional energy integration by exporting Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to Cameroon, marking the first such export and enhancing economic ties between Nigeria and Cameroon. This collaboration is seen as pivotal for improving energy security in Cameroon and fostering local economic development. Meanwhile, Delta State officials have expressed concerns over Nigeria's continued importation of PMS, arguing that the Dangote and Port Harcourt refineries are equipped to meet local fuel demands, highlighting issues with transparency in consumption figures. Additionally, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has begun directly lifting PMS from the Dangote Refinery, a move anticipated to stabilize local fuel prices, as they are now purchasing at reduced rates compared to imported fuel. This direct access aims to eliminate middlemen and enhance supply chain efficiency, ultimately benefiting consumers.
