USPS Plans July Shipping Price Increases Up to 7.6% Nationwide

Proposed hikes include approximately 6.3% for Priority Mail, 7.1% for USPS Ground Advantage, and 7.6% for Parcel Select, while Priority Mail Express prices will remain unchanged. These increases follow a recent $3.3 billion net loss for the second quarter of fiscal year 2025 and are intended to help fund $40 billion in investments in infrastructure, technology, and workforce. USPS leadership emphasizes that the new rates will keep the agency competitive against private carriers like FedEx and UPS and support improvements in service quality nationwide. The Postal Regulatory Commission will review and approve the proposed changes, which were endorsed by the USPS Board of Governors, before implementation.
