Unlicensed Driver Sentenced for Fatal Crash

Anthony Rose, a 21-year-old from Mount Vernon, was sentenced to 2½ to 7½ years in prison for a high-speed crash that resulted in the deaths of his two friends, Noelina Pantaleon and Harry Jonathan Hurst, and severely injured a third passenger, Nyaquae Henderson. On December 18, 2021, Rose, who was unlicensed, drove over 100 miles per hour with his headlights off, ultimately crashing into a tree on the Cross County Parkway. Pantaleon died instantly, while Hurst succumbed to a traumatic brain injury months later, and Henderson faces lifelong rehabilitation following her injuries. The sentencing brought forth poignant testimonies from the victims' families, highlighting the lasting impact of Rose's reckless behavior. Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah emphasized the devastating consequences of the crash, which has altered the lives of those involved permanently.
