Idris Elba Stars in Action Thriller Hammer Down

Idris Elba is set to star in and produce the upcoming action thriller 'Hammer Down', directed by Simon Hatt in his feature debut. The film follows Elba's character, Mac, a skilled truck driver who operates under a 'no questions asked' policy regarding his cargo. When he takes his teenage daughter on a job, they become targets of a group of criminals determined to seize their shipment, prompting a tense struggle for survival against both the criminals and law enforcement. The project is produced by prominent figures including Charles Roven, known for 'Oppenheimer', and is based on Hatt's earlier short film of the same name. Elba continues to expand his filmography with several upcoming projects, including a role in 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3' and a second season of 'Hijack'. 'Hammer Down' will be presented at the American Film Market by Black Bear Productions.
