Coaches Named Finalists for Bryant Award

Spencer Danielson, head coach of Boise State, has been named a finalist for the prestigious Bear Bryant Award after leading his team to a remarkable 12-2 record in his first season, including a Mountain West Championship and a spot in the Fiesta Bowl. Similarly, Shane Beamer of the University of South Carolina has been recognized as the Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year and is also a finalist, credited with achieving a school-record four wins against ranked opponents and a total of nine wins in the regular season. Other finalists for the award include Marcus Freeman from Notre Dame, who has guided the Irish to a 13-1 record and a playoff victory, and Steve Sarkisian from Texas, who has led the Longhorns to back-to-back College Football Playoff semifinal appearances. The Bear Bryant Award recognizes coaches who enhance the sport through integrity and a commitment to their players, with the winner to be announced on January 22, 2025. The award also commemorates the legacy of famed coach Bear Bryant while raising funds for cardiovascular health research.
