Michigan State Wins Season Opener Against FAU

In his debut as head coach, Jonathan Smith led Michigan State to a narrow 16-10 victory over Florida Atlantic, improving the Spartans to 1-0 in the season opener. The game saw Michigan State build a 16-0 lead at halftime, but they struggled offensively in the second half, with quarterback Aidan Chiles throwing two interceptions and fumbling once, finishing with 114 passing yards. Running back Kay'Ron Lynch-Adams was a standout performer, rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown.
