Tropical Smoothie Cafe Revamps Leadership, Promotes Key Executives

Tropical Smoothie Cafe has announced significant leadership changes, appointing Jonathan Biggs as chief operating officer, while promoting Chris Sasser to chief financial officer and Karen Wickliffe to general counsel. Biggs, who previously led operations at Baskin-Robbins, brings extensive experience that will support the brand's growth strategy. Sasser, instrumental in shaping the company's fiscal performance over nearly six years, takes over after the retirement of his predecessor. Wickliffe, with over seven years at the company, will handle all legal matters following the retirement of the former general counsel. CEO Max Wetzel emphasized that these changes mark an exciting chapter for the cafe, enhancing support for franchisees and maintaining growth momentum, which includes the recent opening of its 1,500th location. The company plans to leverage these leadership appointments alongside new product innovations as it continues to expand its footprint.
