D.C. School Head Arrested for Child Exploitation

James S. Carroll, the head of the National Child Research Center in Washington, D.C., was arrested on charges of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor. The arrest followed a criminal complaint alleging Carroll used the Discord messaging platform to solicit child sexual abuse material from an undercover FBI agent posing as a father. Carroll, who had previously worked at the Beauvoir School, allegedly engaged in graphic discussions about child exploitation and requested explicit content involving young boys. The FBI was alerted by Discord after Carroll uploaded suspected child pornography, and investigators traced the activity to his home and workplace. If convicted, Carroll faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison. The allegations have shocked parents at the preschool, which enrolls children aged two to five years old.
