Stafford Police Fatally Shoot Robbery Suspect Charging With Knife, Brick

Stafford police fatally shot Miftau Oladipo, a 30-year-old man, after he allegedly robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store and then charged at officers with a large kitchen knife and a brick during a foot chase. The incident began around 3:15 p.m. on July 6, 2025, after multiple 911 calls reported a man armed with a knife near Avenue E and an aggravated robbery at the 7-Eleven on North Main Street involving a suspect matching the same description. Officers located Oladipo near Avenue E and Shady Brook Drive, but he fled, prompting a pursuit. When Oladipo charged at officers, a Taser was deployed but proved ineffective, leading a second officer to open fire, striking Oladipo, who was pronounced dead at the scene despite immediate life-saving efforts. The Stafford Police Department is investigating the shooting in collaboration with the Texas Rangers, the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office, and the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. No officers were injured during the incident.
