Multiple House Fires Displace 18 Across US Cities

Multiple recent house fires across the U.S. have displaced residents but resulted in no injuries. In Tucson, a fire starting in the garage spread to the attic and a neighboring house, displacing five residents while the cause remains under investigation. In Yates County, New York, six people escaped unharmed after a fire caused by accidental means, which spread from the deck to the house's side, was contained with mutual aid from multiple fire departments. Roanoke, Virginia experienced a house fire that displaced two adults and four children; firefighters controlled the blaze quickly, and the cause is under investigation. In Seaford, New York, a fire caused by spontaneous combustion of oily rags during home improvement displaced five residents; the home was seriously damaged and lacked working smoke detectors, though all occupants escaped safely. The Red Cross is assisting displaced residents in several of these cases.
