TikTok Expands Songwriter Tools in Beta

TikTok has launched new closed beta features that allow songwriters to display tracks they've written or co-written directly on their profiles using a dedicated 'Songwriter' label and a 'Music' tab. These tools, currently available to select songwriters and publishers, were developed following a survey of over 870 songwriters to address their needs for visibility and monetization. TikTok aims to help songwriters boost their profiles, connect with fans and potential clients, and gain recognition alongside established artists. While Spotify has offered similar songwriter spotlight features since 2020, TikTok's update reflects its increasing significance in music promotion, with over half of social-media-active songwriters using the platform. Additional initiatives like the 'BehindTheSong' hub and 'Off the Record' series further support music creators. Interested songwriters and publishers can join a waitlist as TikTok plans to expand the program.
