Motorcyclist Identified in Fatal Geneva Crash

A fatal single-vehicle motorcycle crash occurred early Sunday morning on Geneva's far west side, when Eric Gardner, 40, of Sycamore, veered across the eastbound lanes of Fabyan Parkway between Wenmoth and Kaneville roads and struck an embankment. Gardner was discovered by passing motorists around 6:37 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene. Geneva police, the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team, and the Kane County Coroner’s Office are investigating, with the official cause and manner of death pending further investigation and toxicology results. Fabyan Parkway was temporarily closed but has since reopened. The incident comes one day after another fatal motorcycle crash occurred in the region. No further details have been released.
